For a large number of employees, it is important to balance family and professional requirements in equal measure. Daily tasks are increasingly left to the families. Be it more time with the children, or when having to care for relatives properly.

WHW Hillebrand Group wants to support its employees with this balancing act between work and family.

In 2013, we were able to convince others with our family-friendly offer and were awarded the “Family-friendly company in the Soest district” for the first time. In June 2015 we were once again able to convince the jury of our family-friendliness, and were successfully re-certified. This year we stepped up to the challenge jointly proposed by the wfg Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Soest GmbH and the Frau & Beruf Hellweg-Sauerland competence centre, we once again presented our company to the jury. We were also successful this time!

What makes us family-friendly?

Those who have to reconcile work and family often call flexibility the most important supporting feature. Therefore, we have individual working hours for returning mothers or fathers as well as special leave for family occasions, e.g. the birth of a child. To provide additional financial support to the family, our employees receive a voluntary special bonus for family occasions. On the birth of a child, we gift the newly-baked WHW Hillebrand father or mother a baby welcome pack for their new family member. These gifts are always put together differently.

In addition, we offer functional working hours, i.e. the employees can individually set their working hours in consultation with their managers and “glide” within a certain framework. For young mothers who are interested in an apprenticeship, we also offer the opportunity to do this part-time.

During longer periods of absence, we find it very important to stay in contact with our employees. For example, employees who are temporarily released from work still receive our in-house staff magazine WHW INTERN, and are invited to take part in our company health management campaigns or company celebrations (e.g. Christmas party, or anniversaries). Campaigns from our occupational health management team are also offered to the relatives of our employees, e.g. hiking days.

In addition, canteen meals can also be ordered for family members and taken home.

We help and support the interaction between work and family for our employees. Our efforts are diverse, but by no means at an end. We are working to become even more family-friendly all the time.
