GC PASS 410

Passivation for high-quality transparent and black zinc-nickel surfaces in barrel and rack applications

A wide range of passivations meets the most diverse requirements. With the GC PASS passivation systems, silver, transparent, blue, yellow or black coloured coatings of zinc or zinc alloys can be obtained according to the desired finish or the required corrosion resistance.

GC PASS 410 is a chromium (VI) and cobalt-free passivation for transparent zinc-nickel layers with a nickel incorporation rate of 12 to 15 % for drum and rack goods. It achieves high corrosion protection before a further layer of sealant is applied. To further increase corrosion protection, however, GC PASS 410 when combined with a suitable sealant, develops into a coating system with the highest level of corrosion protection.

Thanks to its good coatability, it is possible to apply commercially available lubricants to adjust the friction coefficient of connection elements as well as EDP coatings or thread locking systems.

Further advantages result from the low shock sensitivity under mechanical load and its suitability in connection with aluminium.

The passivation has a transparent or slightly blue appearance.

GC PASS 410 meets the requirements of the automotive industry.

The passivation is free from cobalt compounds and other SVHC materials or possible candidates.

GC PASS 421.1

Passivation for high-quality zinc-nickel surfaces in barrel applications

GC PASS 421.1 is a chromium (VI) and cobalt-free black passivation for zinc-nickel layers with a nickel incorporation rate of 12 to 15 %. The GC PASS 421.1 passivation is optimised for the system technology when coating in barrel systems.

Subsequent sealing using GC PASS 471, for example, gives the black to dark-violet iridescent surfaces a homogeneous and high-quality appearance.

GC PASS 421.1 once more significantly increases the already very good inherent corrosion protection of zinc-nickel surfaces. Black zinc-nickel surfaces, in addition to high corrosion resistance, are also able to be incorporated in contact with aluminium.

GC PASS 421.1 meets the requirements of the automotive industry.

GC PASS 430

Passivation for high-quality black zinc-nickel surfaces in rack applications

GC PASS 430 is a chromium (VI) and cobalt-free black passivation for zinc-nickel layers with a nickel incorporation rate of 12 to 15 %. The GC PASS 430 passivation is optimised to the system technology for coating in rack systems.

Subsequent sealing using GC TOP 427, for example, gives the black to dark-violet iridescent surfaces a homogeneous and high-quality appearance.

The sealed black zinc-nickel surface, in addition to high corrosion resistance, is also able to be incorporated in contact with aluminium.

GC PASS 430 meets the requirements of the automotive industry when combined with a sealant.
